To work or not to work...

The boys take a moment to relax under Kai's canopy he constructed while the rest of us were working.
Camden helped Shawn work for hours in the front yard. Shawn let him help control the bucket while digging out the ditch. He was a great help.

As we worked in the front yard, Kai took some clothes pins and arranged the sheet to make himself a nice tent. He then moved all the chairs and decided to "rest".
Kai really wasn't interested in any sort of manual labor. He always had an excuse why he shouldn't work. He'll make a great supervisor some day.

Santa's Cookies

I gave Kai a Christmas tree cookie and a tube of green frosting. Really... what did I expect? I bet it tastes fabulous! Santa might eat this one on Christmas Eve.

We had fun decorating the cookies. The boys did a great job this year. The already picked out the cookies we are leaving for the big guy tomorrow night.

Hockey Time!

Camden was announced at the Mallards game last Saturday night. He was announced with the team as a "Future Mallard". He's standing with Mo Mallard before the game.

He was nervous skating out on the ice in the dark. He'd never skated in the dark before. The spotlight was on him while being introduced. Camden had a large crowd rooting him on! We are very proud of him.

Mr. Star

Well it's that time of the year again when Mr. Star visits the Docherty household. Mr. Star was discovered yesterday by the upstairs t.v. The boys were excited to see him again and started talking to him right away. We took out the book, read it, and reviewed Mr. Star's rules. Both boys were up at the crack of dawn looking for Mr. Star, where could he be? They found him after about 5 minutes of searching. Where will he be tomorrow? The search is on.

Festival of Trees

Camden's class went to the Festival of Trees this week. This year there were games set up for the kids to play at the "North Pole". Camden and his partner, Preston, played golf, went fishing, saw the gingerbread houses and much more.

Grandma Docherty was Camden's bus driver for the field trip. He was very excited to see her! After the Festival of Trees the class went to the Lion's Club for a Thanksgiving Feast. Camden made sure there was plenty of room next to him for Grandma to sit.
