70 degree Snowman

On Sunday the temperature reached 70 degrees. The boys took advantage of the warm weather and snow combination and built a snowman. Shawn helped them make the snowman, he has a mustache in this picture. They had to wear snowsuits because of the snow. I was standing outside in a t-shirt and jeans and thought it was hot. Welcome to the Midwest.

Let's Bowl!

We met our friends bowling in Geneseo on Saturday. This was our first experience taking the boys to the bowling alley. Kai's first throw down the alley took about five minutes to finally reach the end. All that time waiting & he didn't even knock one down. He improved as the game went on. The boys enjoyed the Happy Joes pizza sticks and game room as much as they enjoyed the bowling.

Cole, Kane, Camden, Kai, Chase & Briley line up before they begin bowling.

Briley and Kai discuss their next strategy. Briley wasn't a huge fan of bowling, but Kai gave it a shot.

Sickness

We have sickness throughout our house! Camden had the flu & was nice enough to pass it to his brother. The day after Camden got over the flu he got Chicken Pox. So now we have the flu & Chicken Pox raging through our household. Kai has not developed the chicken pox yet, but I'm sure it's on its way.

Kai was miserable, can you tell? He just wanted to lay around and sleep.

We went to Uncle Jesse's wedding this weekend at the Figge Museum. Kai couldn't wait until the music started so he could dance. The boys had a good time visiting with all the family.

Kai couldn't wait until the music started. He was ready to hit the dance floor.

Grandma & Grandpa Docherty

He never stopped!

The boys wanted to wear ties like their daddy.

Mrs. & Mr. Claus

We went to DCCU, where Sheila works, to meet Mrs. and Mr. Claus. Sheila organized the event at the Credit Union on Saturday. This is a group photo of the kids at the party. Mine are the two in the middle making faces. I didn't even notice they were making faces until I looked at these pictures later that day. Don't they know that Santa's watching? Apparently they don't care.

Camden was asking for a robot that stands on his head. I'm sure we can flip one over and have it land on its head. Camden went right up to Santa, he was scared of him at all.

Kai doesn't seem to mind Santa either. It's kind of scary that they'll go to just anyone, especially scary people in costume. Kai wants a rocket ship for Christmas. I'm hoping Santa brings one, otherwise I have to go shopping again. Why do they always ask for something you didn't buy?

Soccer

Camden had his first game on Saturday. During practice he played goalie. I think he enjoyed being on the floor. The lady in front of me called him a "natural". I told her he just enjoys sliding around and getting dirty. Daddy, Mommy, Kai, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Jamie, Chase, & Grandma Hilburn came to see the first game.

Hanging out just waiting for a ball to come. Camden enjoyed his time as goalie, but he had to move on to bigger and better things. During the game he played another position. This was the teams first actual soccer game. Most, if not all had never played before. Needless to say, they herded like wild animals. In fact it got a little crazy & Camden got injured. Refer to the next picture.

He got knocked down & then stepped on. It was a little tragic for his first soccer game. It took a lot of convincing to get him back out on the "field". He finally went out and chased after the ball. He threw his weight around pushing whoever was in his way. My mom says he plays like his cousin Cade. I'm hoping he'll be ready for next week.

Merry Sunshine Christmas Program

Camden had his Christmas program at Merry Sunshine on Friday. We were expecting the worse, so we were pleasantly surprised when he actually tried to sing along. For weeks I asked him what songs he was singing at preschool. He always insisted, "We don't sing songs at school." I of course knew this wasn't true. Kids at my school have been practicing Christmas songs before Thanksgiving.

Towards the end of the program Camden decided he was getting a little tired of all this program stuff. He thought he'd change it up a bit and sing with his head back. I could see hips lips moving, so he was actually still singing.

Overall, Camden did a great job for his first Christmas program. He was happy to see his family there watching him sing.
